A socialist, educator, researcher and activist died in Cape Town in her sleep in the early hours of Saturday, June 28 after a a debilitating illness. Co-founder, with husband Terry, of the primary division of the ANC school, Somafco, in Tanzania for the children of exiles, she qualified as a preschool teacher in Johannesburg and worked as a preschool and primary educator in South Africa, Britain and New Zealand while being active in the anti-apartheid and anti-war movements on three continents.
